Joe Hodges, NYC Fireman

Last Monday, I had the pleasure of attending Joe McNally’s Summer One-Day Lighting workshop in Dobbs Ferry, NY.   

It was there that I met Joe Hodges, a NYC Firefighter.  Mr. Hodges is a good friend of Joe McNally’s and has been a subject of many of his projects.  Great guy, fantastic model…a natural.  I really enjoyed the whole experience and learned a lot.  I look forward to using some of the knowledge of lighting that Joe imparted on us during this intense one-day workshop.  

The best part was watching Joe at work.  He blows my mind with his knowledge and quick thinking.  At one point, he managed to wrap one of the models in a 3″ thick rope from head to toe for some fantastic shots.  Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to shoot that session for licensing reasons, but hopefully, Joe will post it on his website soon.
